Background Information

The Institute of the Brothers of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a lay congregation of the Diocesan Right founded in 1952 at Lodonga in Arua Diocese by Bishop John Baptist Casana. The General Aim of the congregation is to promote glory of God and of Mary. The members take the simple vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience. The specific aim of the congregation is to enable Christians and non Christians share in the fruits of redemption with preference to Christian formation of the youth.

Marian Brothers are mostly lay men who have responded to Christ’s call in their lives and are conscious of serving Him by emulating Mary, the mother of Christ.

A Marian Brother is a brother to all, always feeling and acting as a true brother, companion, confident and helper.

We train children of God to serve Christ in the ways of our Holy Mother, Mary. By following the ways of Mother Mary, we learn to live in humility and dignity for humanity as we serve God Almighty

Apostolate

The Marian Brothers do evangelism of the Good news of Christ in the Parishes, offer instructions to Catechumens and Alter Servers, organize and help Parish Youth Groups, and in the absence of a Catechist or Priest, they lead prayers on Sundays.

Vocational Skills Training

We offer Vocational Skills Training courses in many of our technical and vocational schools. Following the example of St. Joseph the worker, we encourage the community of Marian Brothers to learn technical skills and

Agricultural Skills Training

Our activities span into Agriculture. We not only offer Agricultural skills training, we implement the skills learnt in our demonstration farms. Agabitos Foundation Mixed Farm and Agricultural Skills Training
